We are recruiting a “Managing Director " on behalf of one of our multinational companies
Reports to: Board of directors
Basic Function:
- The Managing Director will be responsible for providing leadership and management to all segments of the business in Tunisia. The position has complete P&L responsibility and oversight over the company’s revenue growth, profitability, and overall well-being.
- The Managing Director will be required to manage a team of 50 people, located in several regions: Tunisia, Egypt, Kenya, and Morocco.
- The Managing Director’s duties include the establishment of local strategies, visions, and goals in line with the company’s global guidelines.
Furthermore, important leadership functions building and/or maintaining a customer-focused culture.
Principal responsibilities:
- Develop short- and long-term strategic growth and profitability objectives within the established objectives and policies of the Board of Directors.
- Formulate and execute both short-and long-term plans that contain overall growth of sales and margin to ensure long-term profitability.
- Promote the continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures to streamline the organization and excellence in service to the customer base.
- Develop, with other staff members, operating plans and goals which include marketing, sales, capital, expense and profit budgets for achieving objectives.
- Review and report the activities and results of the company to the Board of Directors.
- Establish and maintain external relationships with major suppliers and customers, trade and professional associations.
- Provide better leadership, support, and coaching to the team to ensure the company’s development and growth.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels within the organization to promote transparency, teamwork, and collaboration across departments.
This is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities. The Board of Directors is entitled to assign to the Managing Director such further duties and responsibilities it considers appropriate from time to time to be performed by the Managing Director.

- Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies, anticipate trends, and identify threats as well as growth opportunities.
- Project Management Skills: Proven experience in managing complex projects, including planning, executing and monitoring.
- Excellent Communications Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with different hierarchical levels and build strong and long-term relationships with external partners.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data and make decisions based on facts and detailed analysis.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Strong understanding of global cultural differences and the ability to manage a culturally diverse workforce and adapt strategies to local markets.
- Conflict & Crisis Management: Skilled in managing conflicts and crisis situations while navigating through periods of uncertainty to ensure the continuity of business operations.
- Stakeholders Management: Proven ability to build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, board members, and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in management, business, or a related field (MBA, master’s in management, etc.), or an engineering degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering.
- Significant experience of 5 years or more in leadership and management positions within a multinational company.
- A managerial experience in Europe
- Experience in the industrial sector is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in Arabic, French, and English.
- German proficiency is highly regarded.
