Main Responsibilities:
1. Digital Process Simulation
- Development of basic simulation models using Plant Simulation or similar tools.
- Analysis of production capacities, cycle times, flows, and bottlenecks.
- Preparation of scenario studies (operator changes, layout changes, demand variation).
- Evaluation of the impact of new equipment and process modifications.
- Creation of reports with KPIs such as utilization, throughput, and lead time.
2. Facility Layout Planning (2D & 3D)
- Creation and update of 2D/3D layouts using visTABLE, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Optimization of material flow and logistics routes.
- Comparison of different layout concepts based on KPIs, space, and cost.
- Contribution to greenfield and brownfield layout designs.
- Verification of compliance with safety, ergonomics, and operational standards.
3. Lean Manufacturing & Improvement
- Execution of Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Digital VSM.
- Application of Lean tools including 5S, SMED, Kaizen, and Standard Work.
- Identification of waste and proposal of improvement actions.
- Contribution to productivity improvements and headcount optimization.
- Development of efficient production concepts and workstation designs.
4. Project Management & Cross‑Functional Work
- Execution of industrial studies for new lines or transfers.
- Contribution to automation projects (robots, AGVs, semi‑automated equipment).
- Preparation of ROI calculations and technical evaluations.
- Collaboration with global and regional teams on standards.
- Presentation of results to management in a structured way.
5. Documentation & Communication
- Creation of reports, presentations, and technical documents.
- Maintenance of layout libraries and simulation files.
- Creation of visual content (3D models, images, animations).
- Clear communication with operators, engineers, and managers.
Required Skills:
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Plant Simulation or similar tools.
- Knowledge of visTABLE, AutoCAD, or equivalent layout tools.
- Understanding of flow analysis, cycle times, and capacity planning.
- Lean Manufacturing fundamentals (VSM, SMED, 5S, Kaizen).
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
- Structured, organized, detail‑oriented approach.
- Ability to manage several topics in parallel.
- Clear communication and teamwork mindset.
- Proactive and independent working style.
Education
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent.
